Track-Mounted Mobile Sand Washing Plant with Fine Sand Recovery

For many manufactured sand and aggregate projects, the challenge is not only crushing rock into sand. The final washing and recovery stage also affects sand cleanliness, fine sand loss, site layout and project installation time.

Leimeng Group's track-mounted mobile sand washing plant is designed for projects that need cleaner sand, fine sand recovery, compact equipment layout and flexible relocation. The unit integrates a bucket wheel sand washer and a fine sand recovery system on one tracked chassis, making it suitable for small and medium-sized sand plants, mobile crushing sites, temporary projects and space-limited quarry operations.

Instead of arranging a separate sand washer, recovery system, conveyors and supporting structures, this equipment turns the rear-end washing and recovery process into one movable production module.

Why Sand Washing and Fine Sand Recovery Matter

Sand demand continues to grow with infrastructure, concrete and aggregate production. According to the United Nations Environment Programme, the world uses around 50 billion tonnes of sand and gravel every year, and sand use for buildings alone is projected to rise by up to 45% by 2060.

For concrete applications, aggregate quality is also important. The American Cement Association notes that aggregates usually make up 60% to 75% of the total volume of concrete, so grading, cleanliness and particle quality directly affect downstream performance.

For manufactured sand producers, this means the washing stage cannot be treated as a simple accessory process. A suitable sand washing and fine sand recovery system can help remove impurities, reduce usable fine sand loss and support more stable final sand gradation.

Product Overview: Leimeng Track-Mounted Mobile Sand Washing Plant

Leimeng's track-mounted mobile sand washing plant combines three key functions in one unit:

1. sand washing
2. fine sand recovery
3. tracked mobility

The equipment is mainly used after crushing, sand-making and screening. It helps clean the sand, recover usable fine particles and simplify the site layout for projects where a traditional fixed sand washing system may require more space, more foundation work or more installation time.

It is especially suitable for manufactured sand production, aggregate washing, mobile crushing and screening projects, and existing plant upgrades where fine sand loss needs to be reduced.

Key Advantages of the Leimeng Mobile Sand Washing Plant

Integrated Sand Washing and Fine Sand Recovery

The unit combines sand washing and fine sand recovery in one compact machine. This helps reduce separate equipment layout and makes the rear-end process easier to arrange on site.

Tracked Chassis for Flexible Relocation

The whole unit is installed on a tracked chassis. When the working area changes, the equipment can be moved as one module, reducing repeated dismantling and reinstallation.

Compact Layout for Limited Sites

For small and medium-sized manufactured sand plants, site space is often limited. The integrated structure helps reduce the footprint compared with a traditional fixed washing system.

Faster Setup

Because the washing and recovery functions are already integrated, the equipment can reduce on-site connection work. This is useful for projects that need faster installation, temporary production or staged operation.

Fine Sand Recovery for Better Material Utilization

During traditional sand washing, part of the fine sand may be carried away with the water flow. The fine sand recovery system helps recover usable fine particles and reduce unnecessary material loss.

Easy Connection with Crushing and Screening Equipment

The unit can work with front-end equipment such as jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, VSI sand makers, vibrating screens and mobile crushing plants.

How It Works in a Sand Production Line

A typical manufactured sand production process includes:

Feeding → Primary Crushing → Secondary Crushing → Sand Making → Screening → Sand Washing → Fine Sand Recovery

The Leimeng track-mounted mobile sand washing plant is mainly used in the final washing and recovery stage.

First, the bucket wheel sand washer washes the sand and helps remove mud, clay and impurities. Then, the fine sand recovery system recovers usable fine particles from the water flow. Finally, the processed sand can be discharged for stockpiling or further handling.

Depending on the project requirements, the washing process can also be combined with water recycling or wastewater treatment equipment. These systems should be configured separately according to site conditions.

Track-Mounted Mobile Sand Washing Plant vs. Fixed Sand Washing System

A fixed washing system is still suitable for large, long-term production lines. However, when a project needs flexible movement, fast setup or a compact layout, a track-mounted mobile sand washing plant is often more practical.

Suitable Applications

Small and Medium-Sized Manufactured Sand Plants

For plants that do not require a large fixed washing system, the integrated mobile unit can reduce site work and simplify production preparation.

Mobile Crushing and Sand-Making Projects

When mobile crushing and screening equipment is already used on site, a mobile sand washing unit can complete the rear-end washing and recovery process.

Space-Limited Quarry and Aggregate Sites

Some quarry and aggregate projects do not have enough space for a large fixed washing line. A compact track-mounted unit can make the site layout more practical.

Temporary or Staged Production Sites

For short-term construction projects, road material processing or staged aggregate production, tracked mobility can reduce repeated installation work.

Existing Plant Upgrade

The unit can also be used as a supplementary washing and fine sand recovery module for an existing production line.

Which Projects Are Better Suited for This Solution?

This track-mounted mobile sand washing plant is suitable for clients who need:

1. a compact sand washing solution
2. faster installation
3. flexible relocation
4. lower fine sand loss
5. mobile crushing and screening support
6. less civil foundation work
7. a supplementary washing module for an existing plant
8. rear-end processing for small or medium-sized manufactured sand projects

It is not always necessary to build a large fixed washing line. For many projects, the better choice is a practical system that matches the site, material, capacity and final sand requirements.

How to Choose the Right Track-Mounted Mobile Sand Washing Plant

Before choosing a mobile sand washing plant, the project should be evaluated from the production process, not only from the equipment name.

1. Raw Material Type

Different materials have different mud content, fines content and washing difficulty. Crushed granite, basalt, limestone, river pebble and other manufactured sand materials may require different front-end crushing and screening configurations.

2. Feed Size

The feed size should match the washing and recovery equipment. Oversized material may reduce washing efficiency and increase equipment wear.

3. Required Capacity

The required tons per hour will determine whether a mobile washing unit is enough or whether a larger fixed washing system is more suitable.

4. Final Sand Specification

If the final sand is used for concrete, mortar, asphalt or road aggregate, sand gradation, cleanliness and moisture level should be considered before selecting the washing process.

5. Fine Sand Loss

If fine sand is being lost during washing, a fine sand recovery system can help recover usable particles and improve material utilization.

6. Water Conditions

Water availability, water recycling requirements and wastewater treatment conditions should be considered when designing the washing process.

7. Site Layout

For compact sites or projects with limited civil construction conditions, a track-mounted washing and recovery unit can reduce foundation work and simplify installation.

8. Relocation Requirement

If the equipment needs to move between different working areas, tracked equipment is more flexible than a fixed installation.

Selection Guide: Which Sand Washing Solution Fits Your Project?

The best solution is not always the largest system. A suitable sand washing solution should match the raw material, capacity, final product requirements and site conditions.
